S1000D Question
Can I author/modify S1000D data module information using just Arbortext 7.0 Editor or Arbortext 7.0 Editor w/styler? Do I actually need every component of the Arbortext CSDB tool kit to do this? I don't want to buy another full software suite to accomplish a such a focused task. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

How to change the default style sheet location?

I would like to change the default Stylesheet location. I have a custom Arbortext directory (C:\custom\doctypes\) I would like to replace the defaults stylesheets directory for a document type with an alternative path located into my custom Arbortext directory.

Issue with putgraph scaling
Here's the dilemma:
We have a FOSI and a DTD. The cover page is set with a region using a putgraph. The putgraph inserts the outline for the content (which is actually done for every page in the entire publication).
The problem is that it works for some of us and not for others - the latter gets the image, scaled about 5 times larger than it really is. This only happens on the cover page though. All of the outline graphics, on every other page, work fine.
I have compared every setting on my system (with correct output) and a system that doesn't get the correct output. Everything appears to be the same. With the exception of the version: most of our team has AE 7.0, F000. The FOSI and DTD works great, no problems. We have another team that has AE 6.1. This is the team that gets the incorrect output on the cover.
I'm not sure if the version is the issue, however, because it's only the cover page that is not setting up properly. Any ideas?

AE 6.1 M080 - format modifications during publishing
Do you have any recommendations on how to perform format modifications (controlling hyphenation, preventing column breaks, preventing page breaks) during publishing? Apparently this is not supported in 6.1 M080. It has been fixed for 7.0. However this does not help us now. Are there any workarounds for the formatting I mention above?

Legacy Eagle 8 & 8.1 compatability query
Hi,
I'm looking at the early stages of a project to migrate our legacy Eagle environments to a common platform and where practical database and product version ahead of a significant version uplift to current products and need to find the answer to questions that have arisen. Any sensible help appreciated.
Can we use Eagle v8.0.0 to access data held in an Eagle v8.1.0 database ?
What are the likely issues or limitations we will encounter ?
Is it still possible to obtain the installers and DB migration scripts for these old versions if required ? (and if so where)
I cannot find any mention of these old versions (or Eagle) on the main PTC site and it has been some time since I've had direct involvement with them, so I'm probably way out of date (like the products !).

Here is a very generic schematron file that I use to run a completeness check against my document. I have added the atict namespace to this schematron file. The rule in this schematron should just output the name of every element.

I have tried many different ways to just get the atict elements to be recognized by the schematron rules and processor but nothing is working. I have also tried to look at the atict spec as mentioned in the online help: http://www.arbortext.com/namespace/atict/change-tracking-markup-spec.html and it is unreachable for me.

Composing using XSL-FO for emergency page border works in stand-alone Editor when publishing, but not when composed on PE. This is 40051E 5.0 emergencywp
Composing using 6.0 work just fine on laptop.
Composing using PE 7.0 the PDF looks great but the emergency borders defined in the XSL-FO are missing.
Does anyone have any tips on defining a graphic in XSL-FO
Why would it work in stand-alone and not on PE. the custom folders for stand-alone and PE are exactly the same.

Can you create a xref to publication section (Windchill)?
I want to create a link(xref) to a publication section in a publication structure that's in Windchill not a section in the topic self.
When searching in Windchill with the Resource Manager for Link/xref I can't find a publication section only topics no matter which type is selected.
In Arbortext Editor I can only link to a topic or image.
Does anyone know if this is possible to create a link to a publication section?

How to set IDs using ACL
This is probably a simple question for someone with ACL experience. I am not one of those people. I am looking to create an ACL script that would allow for an author to add "id" attributes to specific tags. As an example the elements needing IDs are <proceduralStep>. These ids would have a specific format, "stp-xxxx", where the xxxx are numbers. They do not need to be sequential.
I can do this outside the editor using XSL, but I would like to make it a function in Arbortext and make it part of the authoring process. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I know that this works as a one-by-one command:
oid_modify_attr(oid_caret(),id,"stp-0001")
How do I loop over all <proceduralStep> elements and apply a new unique number? Additionally i'd like to make a menu for this command to be called from, but at the moment i'd just like to be able to make the looping work.

How to create sBOM in SPSE(Service Product Structure Explorer) ?
Hi,
I'm trying to create sBOM from eBOM using SPSE(Service Product Sturcture Explorer) in SIM for Windchill 11.0 F000.
I want to configure sBOM as shown in the bottom figure.
1. Create one service part from assy' and all child parts
3. Create one service part from several child Parts
4. Create one service assy' and add service part from assy' and child parts
Maybe I don't understand SPSE concept well.
I can't doing by reference document only.
Is it possible using SPSE ?
If it is possible please let me know how.

How to upgrade dtd from Arbortext 4.1 to Arbortext 5.4
Hi, I am trying to update my dtd file from arbortext 4.1 - to Arbortext 5.4 , here is the error I get when I try to open
the dtd file in Arbortext 5.4 '
I tried opening one of my XML documents from the network drive, with the usual DTD, but I got this message:
Invalid compiled doctype
[A15002] The compiled doctype file
C:\epicuser\ElisDTD\ElisDTD.ptd
is not compatible with this version of Arbortext Editor.
You must recompile your doctype.
When I try to compile, I get the same message again.
Interestingly, when I try to open the sample XML from the desktop, it gives me a different prompt for a stylesheet and I am able to open the doc. However, it doesn't recognize some of the tags, most notable those related to tables.

Arbortext: Showing JPGs as Huge
I'm creating JPGs in Illustrator and Photoshop at 300dpi. They are showing up HUGE in my Arbortext Editor...but they print out fine.
My tech guy says newer versions of Photoshop output JPGs in a way that Arbortext does not display properly.
Is there a trick to fix this?

Why can't I delete a data module in Arbortext CSDB?
I am using Arbortext CSDB for S1000D (4.2 M030) and do claim to be an expert. I have been deleting DMs, importing and exporting them quite happily until now. Two data modules refuse to delete. When I right click and click Management thed Allocate Author and Reviewer are greyed out, which they aren't on all the other files. When I try and do Delete DMC I get: "Not authorised to Delete DMC" even though I've deleted all the others around them. Any ideas? Thanks.

Error return "0" from ACL/DIV generator...
My document is completing the COMPLETENESS CHECK without any issues. However when I perform a PRINT PREVIEW with our Publishing Engine, I obtain the "Error return "0" from ACL/DIV generator..." error. Earlier this morning I was repeatedly performed PRINT PREVIEW many times. Could it be I filled the memory on the server and it needs to be rebooted? Any ideas what is going on and what causes this error?

Can you save illustrations from Isodraw as transparent PNG files?
We have stopped using CGM files in our word documents (mainly because Word no longer supports CGM). We have a problem though that image formats don't allow our watermark to be seen through them. We are using PNG at the moment which supposedly supports transparency. Does anyone know how to export an Isodraw illustration in PNG format so it is transparent? If not we might be able to use WMF format

Is there a limit to the number of characters that can be added to the ditapath?
Is there a limit to the number of characters that can be added to the ditapath?
Also, is this a reasonable practice...to simply put filenames for topics in the ditamap and then add folders to the ditapath? It seems like a simple solution which would allow you to reorganize files later without having to add paths to each topic in the ditamap.
