Our publishing engine outputs huge file sizes, even when the low resolution job option is selected. Because of this, we end up using Acrobat to reduce the pdf file size. This led us to question whether the publishing engine is compressing graphics when outputting to pdf files using the low resolution job settings (which are set correctly to compress). Does anyone have some insight or recommendations on other avenues to investigate? We are using Arbortext 6.0 M140 with eps graphic format.

Did the Bookmarks button(s) go away in 7.0 m040?
Hi everyone,
Upgrading to 7.0 m040. We seem to have lost the Bookmarks buttons from the menu icon button ribbon. They are still documented as part of the Edit Toolbar (set toolbar1=on/off). The pop-up Bookmarks dialog is still available from the Insert menu. But I can't find (haven't yet, anyhow) the buttons.

Stange behaviour when deleting letters in some tags (Abortext 5.4 M110)
Good morning to all of you.
I would like to know if some of you meet the same problem than me.
In some tags (item tag for example in my case), when I want to delete a letter with the delete key (not the backspace key), the following whole tag is deleted !
If I want to delete the wanted letter I must highlight the letter with shift key and arrow and then, use the delete key.
I can use backspace key, even sometimes the problem occurs.
It's a strange behaviour that occurs with some tags and not all the tags and it's very dangerous because I cross checked a colleague work that deleted a whole item tag without realizing it.
I wondered if it was related to the schema or FOSI but I don't see what could be the relation between them ?

arbortext editor doesn't free my files after editing
Hello the community.
I wonder if it' is possible to free my files after editing in arbortext editor and closing.
Once my edited file and closed (I close the file but not the instance of arbortext editor), this one is locked by arbortext editor and I can't move it in another directory or delete it, for example.
It's very annoying because I must close arbortext editor every and the starting of the application is very long.
Perhaps some of you have a solution (I tried to install an soft such unlocker but it doesn't work because of the administration rights).

is there any configuration in Arbortext worker available for storing published pdfs in local disk

We are using Windchill 11 and Arbortext 7.0 M030. I wonder if there is any configuration available for storing published pdfs in hard disk from arbortext worker. Basically users want to read these stored pdfs instead of downloading it from windchill. Please let me know if there is solution fot it.

Can you create a xref to publication section (Windchill)?
I want to create a link(xref) to a publication section in a publication structure that's in Windchill not a section in the topic self.
When searching in Windchill with the Resource Manager for Link/xref I can't find a publication section only topics no matter which type is selected.
In Arbortext Editor I can only link to a topic or image.
Does anyone know if this is possible to create a link to a publication section?

hyphen character '\' in .acl file can't be used since arbortext 6
Hi,
In Arbortext 5.4, there is no problem using hyphen character '\' in .acl file, but when using arbortext 6, there will be error when starting the editor and the error locating the issue with hyphen character '\' in .acl file.
The error can be fixed by removing the '\', but since there are many '\' characters in .acl files, is there a way to support the hyphen character '\' in arbortext 6 but not removing it ?

Adding Text "Table" with Enumeration / Numbering to Table Titles
Hi,
In Styler, we are attempting to add text "Table" pulled from fixedterm element (<term id="table" text="Table"/>) in the XML and apply to table with titles in Word/RTF output. The intent is to pull the information from "text" attribute and add it to each table with a title except for the very first table (Annual Review) in the document. The text "Table" will be added and numbered starting from "1" and continued on countering to last table with a title. For example the first table with a title in the document should be "Table 1. Quality Control Material" and second table "Table 2. Reference intervals" and third table with a title "Table 3. Compatible Anticoagulants" and so on until all tables with title are accounted for.
Currently I am able to pull the text "Table" from the XML and apply to the table title; however, the enumeration/numbering is not counting as expected. All tables are with title are displaying as "Table 1." even the "Annual Review" table - the very first table in the document.
Can someone please provide guidance on how we can get this tables with title (except for the very first table in the document) apply numbering as explained above? AppSave file will be available via FTP or attached. And I will be available to discuss via telephone to provide clarification.

Eliminating Background Color in Table Entries/Cells
Hi,
The XML has table entries with "...Shading='gray4'" as shown below. Those entries cause tables in Word/RTF output to have cells with gray background. The gray table cells are required in PDF file but not in Word/RTF and both file types are created from the same XML. How can we get the table cells to display with white background rather than gray when Shading='gray4' is used in table entries in the Word/RTF output?
We are using Styler in E3 v7.0.

Issue opening file in 7.0 m050 works in 6.1 m090 after Sma to tia conversion
We have converted from SMA to TIA. If I open a file in 6.1 m090 it works fine. If the users open it in 7.0 m050 I get a parser error. There is no such element as 'title'. It also lists techinfoDomain.xsd as the file it cannot find a bunch of stuff in. Why would it work in 6.1 and not 7.0. From looking at the help session it looks like they are using the same file locations.

Macro to export CGM
Hello everyone.
I am very new to IsoDraw, using v7.3, and I have a small issue.
I want to convert .CGM file to its clear text encoding. I know my input file is encoded in binary and I want to use a command line to convert it to clear text encoding. There are a few things I don't understand :
- What should be the command like ? For now I've been trying to change many subtleties but nothing seems to work.
I always start with this : [path_to_isodraw.exe]\IsoDraw73.exe -s"path_to_source_file" -d"path_to_destination_file" . Then I try to use a simple macro with this only command "Export "path_to_cgm" "CGM". I checked in the preference file for my specific parameters and it seems ok. This macro is saved in my C:\User\myname\AppData\Roaming\ptc\Isodraw\Macro so I add this to my command line, giving this :
[path_to_isodraw.exe]\IsoDraw73.exe -s"path_to_source_file.cgm" -d"path_to_destination_file.cgm" -m"C:\C:\User\myname\AppData\Roaming\ptc\Isodraw\Macro\convertCGM.ism".
Now others questions I have are the following :
- There is a destination file in the command line and another one in the export line of the macro. Doesn't this create a conflict ? To make things simpler, I use the same path but.. still.
- I know there's a -f10 command line option that allows to convert in CGM. How does it precisely work ? Does it conflicts with the export command of the macro ?
- This command worked once on a test file. I tried it again on another file and I could'nt make it work again. Am I missing something ?
- Imagine I want to specify my Export "CGM" command. Let's say one to convert into binary and the other to convert into clear text. Is this possible ? I tried to do some changes in the preference file (changing CGM to CGMBinary and adding CGMText) but this doesn't seem to work. I guess we can't add new commands ? Are we supposed to change the parameters each time ?

Anyone else have problems with the way Isodraw 7.3 saves files?
We've just upgraded from Isodraw 7.0 to 7.3 and are finding it very difficult to cope with the way it now saves files.
Previously, when you opened a file and clicked "Save As" it would default to the directory the file was originally in which to us is logical.
Now, when you click "Save As" it defaults to the directory you last saved a file in.
We are a very busy drawing office and are constantly loading up drawings for modifications in different contracts (and therefore different directories). We usually want them saving down in the same directory with a modified number.
Now we have to be really careful as we can't assume that an illustration will save in the same place it was loaded.
We understand that this modification was requested by some users, but it came in without any warning and with no way round it (wouldn't it have been simple to have a setting to allow saving either way?). We did complain about this change a few years ago when it was first introduced but we've finally had to upgrade to 7.3 as we need some of the new macro features.
Maybe this 'new' way of saving ills is useful for people who only work in 1 directory, but we may work in 10 or 15 different contracts during a day and inevitably, we're saving some ills in the wrong places, then later having to search for them and mover them to the right places.
Can anyone tell me what advantage there is in the new way? All is does for us is cause confusion and mistakes.

Starting Graphic File format
I am using IsoDraw 7.3 to create TIF and CGM files for use in our manuals. I receive many different starting graphics to build on in IsoDraw adding leader lines, notes and everything else. What do you all think is the best file format for the incoming graphic? I am trying to maintain the best resolution I can with a final file size for TIF files under one MB. Typically the final file goes into Arbortext for manual creation.
