New Version of Plugin-API for IsoDraw

Hello,

 

we have been using a plugin for Arbortext IsoDraw for nearly 15 years now. Originally it had been developed using version 5.0.1 of the IsoDraw API and still works with the current version 7.3.

Now there is the problem that our customer has switched to floating licenses and this change is not compatible with the plugin. Version 5.0 of the API does not know about floating licenses and it seems that IsoDraw send an event to the plugin which has been introduced especially for floating licenses.

Therefore we need to update our plugin to the current version of the API for IsoDraw 7.3 but I could not find any documentation or C header files / API source. I still have them for version 5.0.1 in our SVN repository but there seems to be nothing from PTC.

Has someone here used the IsoDraw plugin API in recent years? Is there some link where to download the API and its documentation? Or do I have to contact PTC directly for that information?

[A14123] Arbor Text Session issue

Hi,

We are getting the following alert  in Arbor Text when we open multiple files in Arbor Text editor.

 

Existing window is busy or has an active dialog box.Do you want to start another ArborText editor session?

 

Earlier this seems to work.but not sure what happened,it suddenly gives the alert as below.

Could anyone help me in this regard.

Unsupported Languages

We are currently using Arbortext for 36 localized languages and adding another 16 in the next coming months bringing the total to 52 languages. Out of the 52 languages there are 17 that are not supported. What are PTCs plans to add support to any of these languages?

 

Indonesian

Albanian

Macedonian

Serbian

Ukranian

Vietnamese

Malaysian

Mongolian

Armenian

Dari

Khmer

Bosnian

Kazakh

Afrikaans

Lao

Hindi

Turkmen

 

One of the issues we are seeing with languages not being supported is the Index is not broken up like it is for supported languages. See attachment. Should a Product Enhancement request be submitted for this inquiry?

dobj_is_mod(dobj ) inspects dobj modified state; what can one use to set the dobj modified state?

Error "[A30156] Cannot register Java native calls for the AOM Node interface"

Getting "[A30156] Cannot register Java native calls for the AOM Node interface" error and there is no aom.jar in custom folder. I tired "eval option('javaclasspath')" in console but not success. Is there any way to debug it?

 

Environment: Arbortext 6.1 and Java 1.6

How to push Windchill WC_VERSION_ATTR into Arbortext DITA Topic

Hi,

 

I am looking for the tip to push Windchill Information System Attribut Name WC_VERSION_ATTR into Arbortext Editor for a DITA Topic.

I add the following rule into my bursting file:

<twowaymetadatarule attrname="rev" bndryelemname="topic" metadata="WC_VERSION_ATTR" metadataelemname="topic" mode="toxmlway"/>

 

When I create a new DITA Topic in Windchill and open it in Arbortext the attribut field rev of Topic element is imput.

 

Do you have any idea?

arbortext 7 datamerge

Since Arbortext Editor 7.0 upgraded to JAVA 1.8 which does not support odbc:jdbc bridges datamerge has been deprecated. I am wondering what kind of solutions anyone has found in terms of a workaround to use datamerge queries and databases that were set up and working with previous versions of arbortext editor? I attempted switching editor back to a JAVA 1.7 that still supports odbc:jdbc and seemed sucessful in getting Editor to load with 1.7 but have still not been able to get a datamerge to function, not even on the demo.

How to open Creo file into ISODraw from Windchill?

I am trying to figure out how to open a Creo file that is in Windchill straight into ISODraw. I have Work Group Manager installed and communicating with both Windchill and ISODraw, but when I select open in ISODraw and the Windchill button in the WGM no Creo files are displayed. If I navigate in the WGM to a folder on my computer Creo files are displayed and can be opened (imported).

 

I've searched the help and knowledge base, but found nothing.

When,adding,new,categories,and,values,in,a,interval,file,that,has,been,created,in,the,Arbortext,interval,editor,,how,do,you,get,the,profiles,to,appear,in,the,Apply,Profiles,dialog,box?

I have added new categories and values in a new ditaval file using the Arbortext ditaval editor in v7. After having completed this task, I fully expected to see the new categories and values appear as options in the Apply Profiles dialog box. They did not appear and therefore I was not able to apply those values. Consequently I looked into this matter further and noticed that the .pcf file may need to be modified and so on. I work at a place I do not have access to the ditabase and .pcf files. The tools person is rather inexperienced and told me that the implementation of the new categories and calues in a ditaval file require specialization and changes in the DTD and thus requires a lot of work.

 

Although I am somewhat technical, I am not as familiar with the implementation of profiles in the Arbortext Editor, I was surprised to hear that DTD changes are required. Can someone please let me know at a very high level what is required to make the newly-added profiles in a ditaval appear as options in the Apply Profiles dialog box?

 

For example:

 

o Does it require modifications in the ditabase file?

o Does it require modifications in the .pcf file?

o Does it require modifications in the DTD?

 

Working with an inexperienced tools team member and not having access to some of these files makes me wonder why PTC added the ditaval editor in Arbortext if an additional skillset is required that a writer could not figure out. I am wondering if someone can answer the above-listed 3 questions at a 30K level and let me know what it actually takes to add new profiles in a ditaval file using the Ditaval Editor in Arbortext v7.0. Thanks.

Why does my edit view contain German Language headings in an English document and how can I change them to English?

My document Edit view has many headings that are in German when I am working in English. Can I change these to English.

Below is a sample:

The document seems to publish correctly,  but at least a two work stations have this problem Any Ideas?
